When I look back at the past 10 years of weddings, design, and so many wedding couple visions, one thing has stayed constant. Our couples that come to us want something they haven’t seen before. Everyone is trying to find the right thing for them. Many have dabbled online, spending hours scrolling through sample templates that start to blend together. The colors, the script, the text: everything falls flat of the wow factor that couples want. When couples finally commit to going custom, they are making a trade-off. They are trading money for time. They are no longer wasting their time scrolling or trying to modify and move text. They are entrusting us to take over the reins of making it perfect. They are trading control for trust and collaboration with us. They are trading “almost right” for exactly what they want.We are designers, creatives and mothers sharing a little bit of it all. We hope you join us for the fun.
The investment for custom invitations with us at Cork and Chambers comes with some perks that online invitation companies don’t offer (or they charge extra for). All of our invitations include:
Double-sided design and printing: this means we can put anything, anywhere on more paper. Most online companies only print on one side of their pieces.
120 lb paper: this means nothing to you if you have not held it, but when you know, you know. It’s not floppy or shiny. It’s smooth and rigid. If you want more luxe paper, we can upgrade to a double thickness that will really make you stop in your tracks.
A selection of shapes: we can do traditional rectangles, but we also add the option for arch, double arch, oval, square, and tri-fold, all included when we are helping navigate the right options.
Custom placement and artwork: the artwork is individually painted and placed for each design. It’s not a copy-and-paste in the same location across all pieces. Every single placement is intentional and thoughtful.
Printed artwork on envelopes: we think it makes it fun for guests to see the design the moment they open the mailbox.
Because this is just our starting point in design, we actually tell couples that we can make a beautiful suite with just those ingredients. We don’t try to upsell our couples, because we trust ourselves enough to know what we can do with those elements alone.
But sometimes couples are ready to elevate their suite and create something memorable to touch. When they do, we get to mix and match with trusted vendors we know can contribute to the design. This is where you keep the full design in-house. When couples choose to DIY their own invitations, they have to source their own items below, as many online invitation companies are not offering these either:
Wax seals: this is probably our most popular add-on. The actual seal is designed and custom engraved so you can use it again and again. Because we buy the wax seal sticks, it is easy to use them in a hot glue gun time and time again.
Envelope liners: we love the addition of this element because it tucks a unique design or pattern into the envelope as a surprise for your guests.
Ribbons or wraps: we can assemble this too, but we source the right material that goes with the vibe of your suite.
Colored envelopes: while white envelopes with our artwork are included, we know that sometimes a colored envelope adds a different look and feel.
Addressing: we include this with one of our suite options, but couples save time and energy by having us address them in a way that goes along with the look and feel of their suite.
By picking these elements, each ingredient changes how it interacts with the suite. The end result is an elevated, one-of-a-kind design that is unmatched by anything found online. Yes, we try to one-up ourselves every time, because we believe that when couples entrust us with their investment for their wedding day, it is our responsibility to show up in a way that we have not before.
