The Discovery Call

A discovery call is the first opportunity for us to hear more about your day, and you to learn about our custom design process. We offer you a link for a scheduler to pick a date and time that works around your schedule. Because we are teachers, we like to do our calls in the evening after kids go to bed and after our clients have come home, had their dinner and maybe even settle in with an evening cocktail. Let's spend 20 minutes chatting and getting to know each other.

When and how do we meet?
This call allows you to actually see us face to face. We use GoogleMeet and can send you a link. Couples can join together or in separate locations - hey, even your planner can jump if if they are available. We think face-to-face is nice since it helps us to see your body language, hear your voice and see YOU! Plus, you get to see all of our excitement for your day.

What do we talk about?
On the call, we like to start with a little bit about the actual process. We will walk you through the investment, the invoice and payment schedule. We will also get into our 3 invitation packages and the pieces that each include. We focus on the process from booking and our proposal, to the layout and proofing and final counts and going to print.

Quantities?
We like to get an estimate of how many invitations you plan to send out. We emphasize that there are two quantities that help you determine how many to send. First and foremost, what is your guest count? That is how many people you are actually inviting. Each guest will get their own dinner, but not each guest needs their own invitation.

The second number is your household invitation. This is related to how many homes you need to mail to. This number will be closer to just over half of the guest count. With this number, you will then want to order a few more: some for keepsake, some in case USPS mislocates them, and third we suggest giving two to your photographer. All of our invitations include back and front design work. This will allow the photographer to capture all sides of your pieces.

All about you!
Finally, we love you to describe your day. It helps us to HEAR it. The mood, the feeling, the colors, the florals. We jot down some notes to ourselves. If you decide to book us, these notes will serve as one of the items we use to build out your brand.

Even though we are thorough and talk a lot, we know that our couples have questions and we love to answer anything that you need clarification on. When booking us, we are with you for the longevity of your day. We can always jump on another call or talk more about other questions at any point in this process.

After our call, we will send over an itemized proposal for you to click through. We get so excited to send this and move through the booking process because then the fun really begins.
